The Small Wild Goose Pagoda, built between 707-709 AD during the Tang Dynasty, stands within Jianfu Temple as a UNESCO World Heritage component of the Silk Road routes. This 43-meter brick pagoda remarkably survived over 70 earthquakes throughout its history while maintaining its original architectural elegance. The surrounding temple complex features peaceful gardens, historical steles, and the Xi'an Museum's ancient bell collection. Unlike its more famous counterpart (Big Wild Goose Pagoda), this site offers a quieter atmosphere for appreciating Tang Dynasty Buddhist architecture and cultural artifacts. The pagoda's graceful proportions and historical resilience make it a significant monument representing Chang'an's (Xi'an's) role as Tang Dynasty capital and Silk Road terminus.
