In the morning, we will leave at the appropriate time from your hotel in Beijing city center and drive to Tian'anmen Square, which is the largest square in the world. There you can see the Tian'anmen Monument, considered the national symbol of China. Afterwards, we will walk through the Tian'anmen Gate until we reach the Meridian Gate, from where you will enter the Forbidden City, the largest imperial palace in China during the Ming and Qing dynasties, with a history of approximately 600 years.
After having lunch at a local Beijing restaurant, we began exploring the Temple of Heaven, a place where ancient emperors pray for good harvests and peace for the nation. Today, it is a World Heritage Site, a national key cultural relics protection unit, and an iconic landmark in Beijing. The Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest is one of the most important and impressive buildings in China. After the visit, you will return to the hotel by car.
Itinerary customization suggestion
If you want a chance to get closer to local people, you may consider to visit the Temple of Heaven in the morning when local people practicing morning exercises, including traditional activities like Tai Chi. You can join them or find a teacher to guide you.

After having Breakfast at your hotel, we will head by private car towards the Mutianyu Great Wall. The Mutianyu Great Wall is located in Huairou County, northeast of Beijing. The Mutianyu Wall is the jewel of the Great Wall of China, it was included in the UNESCO World Heritage list. It is known for its dense forests and grasslands that change color with the seasons. If you want to reach the highest point, you can choose to take the cable car (optional, additional cost).
After visiting the Mutianyu Great Wall, we will take you back to your hotel.
Meals: Breakfast & lunch
Today we will visit the Summer Palace. After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, we will head by private car to the Summer Palace, located about 15 kilometers northwest of downtown Beijing. The Summer Palace is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of China's most exquisite imperial gardens. Renowned for its beautiful landscapes, the palace features the stunning Kunming Lake, the Longevity Hill, and numerous pavilions, bridges, and temples.
After exploring the Summer Palace, you have the option to visit the Old Summer Palace (Yuanmingyuan), which is nearby. This site was once a magnificent imperial garden, known for its stunning architecture and beautiful landscapes, but was unfortunately destroyed during the Second Opium War. Today, it serves as a historical site where you can reflect on its former glory and enjoy the beautiful ruins and gardens.
After your visit to either the Summer Palace or the Old Summer Palace, we will return to your hotel, concluding a delightful day immersed in the beauty and history of Beijing's imperial gardens.
