Full Day: Immerse yourself in the world of Jin merchants. Visit the seminal Rishengchang Draft Bank, explore the China Escort Museum, and discover the lavish Ma Family Courtyard, the former residence of a wealthy Pingyao merchant. Don't miss the underground vault at Xietongqing Draft Bank.
Evening (Optional): It is highly recommended to watch the acclaimed large immersive scenario show "Seeing Pingyao", which dramatizes a local story from the late Qing Dynasty.
Attractions & Activities
Morning: Engage with Pingyao's living traditions. Visit venues like the Tangdu Lacquerware Museum or the Pingyao Beef Cultural Industry Park to learn about and try your hand at crafting national-level intangible cultural heritage items, such as polished lacquerware.
Afternoon: Choose to visit the magnificent Shuanglin Temple, or spend time freely exploring the ancient city's alleyways and shopping for cultural souvenirs like lacquerware and paper-cuttings."
