Depart from your Chengdu hotel in the morning for Dujiangyan City (approx. 1.5-hour drive). First, visit the Dujiangyan Panda Base, a quieter alternative to see Giant Pandas in a serene forest setting. In the afternoon, explore the UNESCO World Heritage Dujiangyan Irrigation System, marveling at this 2,000-year-old engineering feat that still functions today. Drive to your hotel near Siguniangshan in the evening to acclimatize.
Attractions & Activities
A full day for hiking in Changping Valley. This valley is ideal for trekking and exploration, perfectly suited for beginners. Well-maintained boardwalks and gentle paths pass by sites like Lama Temple, Dead Tree Lake, the Red Stone Formation, and Muluozi, all under the gaze of the four majestic peaks. Hike at your own pace—turn back at Dead Tree Lake or Upper/Lower Dry Sea—for a relaxed and pressure-free introduction to alpine trekking.
Attractions & Activities
In the morning, tour Shuangqiao Valley, the most accessible valley in the area. Take the sightseeing bus to visit highlights such as Renshenguo Flat, Longzhu Lake, Nianyu Dam, and Budala Peak, enjoying a spectacular mix of snow-capped mountains, meadows, lakes, and forests. On the return drive to Chengdu, make a final photo stop at Maobiliang viewing platform, the classic spot for a full panorama of the four sister peaks. Arrive back in Chengdu by evening.
