In the afternoon, ascend the Shanghai Tower (Shanghai Center), China's tallest building. Next, head to the famous Bund to stroll along the historic waterfront, admiring the colonial-era architecture on one side and the modern skyline of Pudong's Lujiazui across the river. Full Day: Zhujiajiao Ancient Water Town
Immerse yourself for a full day in Zhujiajiao Ancient Town, often called the ""Venice of Shanghai,"" easily accessible via Metro Line 17. Wander leisurely along the old cobblestone lanes of North Street and Caohe Street. Visit historical sites like the Kezhi Garden and the Qing Dynasty Post Office. The quintessential experience is a ride on a traditional hand-rowed boat, gliding through the narrow canals for the best views of ancient bridges, waterside houses, and daily life. Be sure to try local specialties like braised pork, ""Grandma's"" rice dumplings (zongzi), and smoked green beans."
