volunteering experience with pandas and visit to the ancient irrigation system
07:00 - 08:30 | Hotel Pick-up & Transfer to Dujiangyan
A private vehicle will pick you up from your Chengdu hotel. The guide will brief you on volunteer guidelines during the drive (approx. 1.5 hours).
09:00 - 12:00 | Panda Keeper Volunteer Program at Dujiangyan Panda Base
Arrive at the Dujiangyan Panda Base for an unforgettable volunteer experience.
Important Note: Per strict regulations, direct contact with pandas is not permitted. Activities include:
Enclosure Cleaning: Assist keepers in cleaning the pandas' outdoor areas.
Food Preparation: Learn to prepare panda meals (cutting bamboo, making cakes).
Observation: Watch keeper feeding/training from a safe distance and learn about panda conservation.
Documentary: Usually includes watching an educational film.
Receive an official volunteer certificate upon completion.
12:30 - 13:30 | Lunch
Enjoy lunch at a restaurant near the Dujiangyan scenic area.
14:00 - 16:00 | Explore the Dujiangyan Irrigation System
Visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site. With your guide, understand Li Bing's masterpiece by seeing its core components: Yuzui (Fish Mouth Levee), Feishayan (Flying Sand Spillway), and Baopingkou (Bottle-Neck Channel).
16:30 | Return to Chengdu
Conclude this rewarding journey and be transferred back to your hotel in Chengdu.
