Your day begins with a convenient hotel pickup anywhere in Guilin city. Your guide will be waiting with a signboard. From there, enjoy a scenic drive along the expressways to Bajiaozhai Scenic Area.
Along the way, your guide shares insights into the region’s remarkable Danxia landforms (also know as rainbow mountain landform) and local geography, setting the stage for the adventure ahead.
Once inside the core scenic area, you’ll explore:
- Dragon Head Peak, a dramatic Taoist site with a cliffside viewing platform
- Whales Playing in Mist, where sea clouds swirl around towering Danxia peaks
- Tiangong Temple, a Song Dynasty Buddhist site perched on the border with sweeping views
For those seeking a thrill, the Glass Walkway is available as an optional add-on (tickets can be purchased on-site).
Lunch is served at a mountaintop Yao ethnic restaurant, where you’ll enjoy authentic dishes such as bamboo-tube chicken, oil tea, and fern-root dumplings. As you dine, your guide offers cultural insights into the Yao people’s rich culinary traditions.
After lunch, descend along a scenic trail that passes:
- Tears of Stone, a unique formation shaped by wind erosion
- Dragon Spine Sky Ladder, a steep stone stairway carved into the ridge
- Sea Snails Viewing Sky, a geological cluster of spiral-shaped hills
The journey concludes with a comfortable transfer back to your hotel in Guilin.
